About Me

Welcome!  I'm Michelle.  I am a wife and a mother to a beautiful little boy.  I am married to the kindest, most generous man I’ve ever known.  Together, we are finding our way as we journey into parenthood.  Being a mother is truly my greatest joy.

I am passionate about education and believe it is the greatest gift we can give ourselves.  After teaching for many years in an urban high school, I am now taking time to finish my PhD in Teaching and Learning Processes.  I currently work part-time as a research assistant, and I am in the beginning stages of my dissertation.

My world revolves around my family.  I believe in the power of good friends and good food.  I try to make the most of this precious life and find joy in simple pleasures.  I am a seeker of beauty.  I’m also a free spirited dreamer, an aspiring writer, a novice seamstress, an avid hiker, a wine lover, and a tree hugger.  I love music.  I love nature.  I love to decorate my home.  Cleaning and organizing are my forms of therapy.

Though we currently live in the city, we hope to one day have a chunk of land and a house surrounded by trees.  We want space for our children to roam.

I created this blog as a way to chronicle my journey into motherhood and also as a sort of breathing space, a place to let my thoughts and ideas soar….a place where I can pause and nurture my spirit, reminding myself to enjoy life’s simpler pleasures.   I strive to live deliberately and graciously.  My hope is that this space will remind me to slow down…to breathe in and take notice of the joy and the beauty that surrounds me.

Thanks for stopping by.  I hope you enjoy your visit.
